85th Anniversary Celebrations

85th Anniversary Legacy Projects

As part of our 85th Anniversary celebrations, we are proud to support lasting community improvements through our Legacy Projects grants.

Earlier this year, we invited applications for capital projects that would make a lasting impact across the Swan Valley.

We’re excited to announce the recipients of our three $8,500 Legacy Project grants:

Benito Splash Park
Funds are being raised to build a brand-new splash park on the grounds of the local rec centre. With limited recreational amenities in the area, this project aims to promote active living, community connection and social wellness for all residents, including seniors and older adults.

The splash park will not only offer families a fun, accessible place to play, but also support local tourism and economic activity by drawing visitors into the community.

Swan River Community Centre
The Swan River Community Centre serves as the heart of many community events, hosting everything from fundraisers and cultural celebrations to banquets and sports gatherings.

The $8,500 grant will go toward a kitchen upgrade, including commercial-grade equipment, better prep areas and improved storage. These upgrades will support volunteers and staff, enhance service quality and expand the centre’s ability to host large-scale events for years to come.

Swan River Trap Club
After losing access to their previous grounds last year, the Swan River Trap Club has secured land under a 25-year lease and is ready to build. The new Trap House will allow the club to host local events a couple of times a year and host Manitoba-wide competitions in the future.

This project brings new recreational opportunities to the area and promotes community engagement through sport.

Member Appreciation Draws

In addition to our Legacy Project grants, we also celebrated with some Member Appreciation Draws.

•  Five lucky winners received $850 gift cards
•  Twenty members won $85 gift cards
•  And we wrapped it all up with an epic Shopping Spree at our Food Store!

Two lucky shoppers, Melissa and Kenzie (shopping on behalf of her mom, Darlene) had 85 seconds to dash through the aisles and fill their cart!
